We learned about our body type in the previous blog (if you haven’t read it yet, go have a look) in which we discovered different shapes and types [Apple, Hourglass, Pear, Rectangle, and Inverted triangle.] Now we’re going to know what kind of garment or style SUITS YOU THE BEST. One of the most important things to feel comfortable and look beautiful is to find outfits that flatter our body. This blog will help you figure out how best to highlight your body type.

How to dress an Apple body shape?

Your hips and shoulders are well balanced, that is to say they are nearly same width. But your waistline is not defined.

Best assets of your body:

  • Slender and (often times) firm/muscular arms.
  • Slender legs.
  • Curvy bust and round buttocks.

Best tips for your type:

  • The purpose of an apple shaped body is to create the illusion of a waistline.
  • Direct attention away from the heavier section of middle.
  • Apple shaped body has gentle curves and we need to have more sharp lines on the body to break this up and flatter.
  • Add structure, especially to your top half.
  • Flaunt your legs or wear the dress with V or deep V neckline.

Best clothes for apple shaped body?

Wear printed dress or layered jackets that changes attention. Monochrome looks, dark colours, full or 3/4th sleeves dresses, and flowy tops are helping. A-line or empire cuts are ideal for you. For bottom you can opt for plazzos etc. to create a balance. Also, because your shoulders are wide and you may already have a bigger bustline make sure you are wearing a good size bra.

Best tops for your body:

Wrap
Peplum

Best Jackets for your body:

Open front
Long vest

Best jeans for your body:

Straight or Slim fit
Bootcut

Best pants for your body:

High-waist

Best dresses for your body:

Empire-waist
Off-shoulder

What not to wear?

Avoid figure hugging garments with skinny jeans. Replace your waist belt with upper waist belt to look balanced.
